The cooperation between BMW and Bang & Olufsen will bring a high-end surround sound system to BMW customers. The new surround sound system being introduced with the debut of BMW's new 6 Series Coupe, will enable several Bang & Olufsen fans among BMW customers to avail the same Bang & Olufsen's surround sound experience that they enjoy at home, says Tue Mantoni, CEO of Bang & Olufsen.
This new surround sound system is the first joint audio product of the two companies brought to the market. It comes with features like the Floating Frame solid aluminium grilles, small LEDs that turn on when a loudspeaker cover in the centre of the dashboard lifts noiselessly to reveal Bang & Olufsen patented Acoustic Lens and an additional mid-range loudspeaker present on the loudspeaker cover that delivers sound throughout the cabin. The surround sound system is said to distribute sound horizontally with 180º of dispersion to offer the best possible acoustic experience for anywhere in front of the speaker.
