New Surround Sound System Combines Form and Function

Cinematic sound in your living room is the dream of every home theater fanatic. Ideally you want to combine top-notch performance with a subtle design so that you can live comfortably in your home without your system getting in your way. The new Harman Kardon SB16 soundbar is an attempt at achieving both goals simultaneously.
The soundbar is only a two-channel stereo system, but Harman has incorporated a 3D "virtual speaker surround mode" that gives you a surround sound quality experience without the extra speakers. The soundbar is programmable so it can synch with your television's power, sound and source commands. It also includes a 100-watt wireless subwoofer with an automatic standby mode that wakes up when it detects an audio signal.
